HEATHER McCLANAHAN
TCRG/ADCRG
The McClanahan School of Irish Dance was founded in 1997 in Louisville under the direction of Heather McClanahan Ackerman, TCRG/ADCRG.

Heather began her dancing career at the age of 6 and has competed and won numerous awards at the Regional, National and World Championship levels. She has been involved in teaching Irish Dancing since 1990 and is an accredited teacher and adjudicator of traditional Irish Step Dancing, qualified by An Coimisiun le Rince Gaelacha, in Dublin, Ireland.
Heather and her husband Bob have 3 children – Megan, Sean and Colin. Megan, age 18, is an Open Championship level dancer and a three time World qualifier in her age group. She has been dancing since the age of 4 and loves to compete and travel to competitions with her dancing buddies. Sean is 14 years old competes at the Open Championship level and is ranked 7th in the region. Colin, age 12, plays soccer for LSA.
EMILY MAJOR
TCRG/ADCRG
Emily and Juliana are certified by An Coimisiun le Rince Gaelacha. They each have over 15 years of dance experience and were students at the McClanahan School. Both competed at the Mid-America Regional Championships and performed with the Chieftains.

Emily is a graduate of the University of Louisville and works full time as a surgery coordinator.
​
Juliana is married and the proud mother of Saoirse, Aisling, Aoife and Eibhlin.
